Fiachra Ó Marcaigh brings a broad range of internet strategy, communications and IT experience to his work for AMAS clients. He has worked at senior level in traditional and online media for over 20 years.

As an AMAS director, he has led significant eBusiness and eGovernment projects for clients, including:

  • Internet strategy formulation
  • Devising processes and frameworks to implement online strategy
  • Specifying complex content projects
  • Leading research, usability and accessibility work
  • Planning web and intranet redevelopment and relaunch projects

Working with clients to develop internet strategies, he also emphasises the need to execute strategy well to gain the business benefits.

Fiachra is a member of the Irish Internet Association’s User Experience Working Group and serves on the committee of the Ireland Chapter of the Project Management Institute. He is a regular guest speaker at conferences and is a media commentator on IT, usability, accessibility and online communications.

Fiachra is a former assistant editor with the Irish Times newspaper, where he specified, bought and managed the technology used by journalists. He led the team that implemented new editorial technical initiatives, and contributed to the pioneering creation of Ireland.com in 1994.

From 2000 until 2002, he worked with the internet publisher DigiServe. He managed the interface between technical and editorial teams to create four major social network portals. He also managed EDO Software Services, a Digiserve subsidiary.
