Diageo was created by the merger in 1997 of Guinness plc and Grand Metropolitan plc. It is the world’s leading premium drinks business, with a collection of outstanding brands.

Diageo commissioned AMAS to  develop a fully-compliant Irish website supporting Diageo Ireland’s corporate communications objectives.

Diageo Ireland was on of the first large companies in Ireland to have an accessible website

Website accessibility

AMAS drew up the case for developing an accessible Irish website, then advised on, planned and project managed its development.

The role included:

  • Co-ordinating activity between several suppliers
  • Advising on how to comply with the digital governance and branding policies of Diageo Ireland’s multinational parent PLC
  • Overseeing the design to a level approaching WAI Level AA

As a result, Diageo Ireland was one of the first large Irish companies to have an accessible website.
