Price comparison sites are becoming increasingly popular among consumers, anxious to source the best deal in these straitened economic times. A survey by Amárach for the National Consumer Agency found that half of Internet users use such sites, but the frequency can vary considerably.
Airline pricing sites are the most popular, followed by insurance and motoring sites. For everyday activity like grocery shopping and banking, the Internet is helping the savvy consumer to shop around.
